The sources of greenhouse gas emissions in New Zealand are dominated by agricultural and transport emissions. This gives us an emissions profile similiar to that of a Kyoto Protocol developing country (like Argentina and Brazil) rather than a developed country. In addition we have the 3rd highest amount of renewables in our electricity generation system in the developed world (hydro, wind and geothermal) at around 70%.
